About the Seminar
Since 1991, an increasing number of dedicated homeowners committed to improving the communities in which they live have attended the seminar. The contributions of former, current and future members of management committees who attend the seminar continue to be invaluable to its success. We have received many positive responses over the years and enjoy meeting long-time friends and making new ones each year at the seminar.
Utah law continues to develop, often in ways that provide condominium management committees and boards of homeowner associations greater power to make positive changes for their members. Among the diverse range of topics covered at the seminar are: the duties of management committee members and their relationship to unit owners, the amending of founding documents, the latest court decisions affecting Utah associations, the best methods for collection and maximizing cash flow, and issues such as parking, collection, and renter problems.
The Americans with Disabilities Act is at times used against associations when they are asked to make exceptions to their governing documents to provide benefits for those who claim exemptions under the ADA. The ADA's sometimes burdensome complexity is an area of the law in which association management committees often need the kind of expert legal advice available at the seminar.
